ABOUT THE GAME

A tribute to the original darkness

Demiablo recreates the original Diablo experience entirely from scratch, HTML5, Canvas, and original code, without using any art, sound, or data from the original game. It's a portfolio project, made out of love for the 1996 classic, not a copy of Blizzard's files.

Descend through the Cathedral, Catacombs, Caves, and Hell itself, face the six iconic bosses, and reach Diablo, alone or paired up via online co-op straight in the browser. Three difficulty levels for those who just want to soak in the mood and for those who want to truly suffer.

HOW TO PLAY

Controls

Everything by mouse, in the best classic Diablo style: click to move and attack, click an item to pick it up. The bottom bar gives access to Hero, Bag, Quests, and Chest. ESC opens Settings at any time. On touch screens, the same controls work by tap.

NOTE FROM IDEABOB

Why I made this

Diablo (1996) is one of the games that shaped me as a player and as a developer. Demiablo was born from wanting to understand, in practice, how that dark mood and that "one more floor down" loop worked under the hood, and to recreate it from scratch, without copying a single pixel of the original. It's pure portfolio work: it doesn't sell, doesn't intend to sell, it just exists because I wanted to build it.
