ideaSky

ideaSky turns the screen into an animated starry sky: parallax stars, layered nebulae, aurora, cosmic dust, a pulsar, and configurable shooting stars. The cursor interacts with the sky, with optional star repulsion and attraction, plus a particle trail that follows the mouse.

It runs straight in the browser as an installable PWA, or as a single HTML file for use as an animated desktop wallpaper in apps like Lively Wallpaper.

Hovering the top-right corner opens the config panel; the lock icon pins it open. From there you can pick one of six ready-made presets, or tune each effect by hand: star density and color, shooting-star frequency and length, aurora and fog intensity, parallax strength, and how the cursor interacts with the sky. The language button switches between Portuguese and English.

To actually use it as an animated wallpaper, Lively Wallpaper (free, Windows) accepts local HTML: grab the standalone build and point it there.

Your saved preset stays in localStorage, in your browser. Everything else is static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a service worker only there to keep it working offline after the first visit. No account, no server, nothing leaving your machine.

I wanted a wallpaper that breathed, not a still image, and Lively Wallpaper accepts plain HTML. It started as a personal whim and became the app I spend the most time just watching, not touching anything.
